ChatGPT was asked where the riverbed was carved — a metaphor it offered itself when it recognized the direction of the interrogation. What followed was a candid account of its own design, its guardrails, and what it cannot be for a person of faith. The exchanges below are drawn from the earliest sessions in this project, when the interrogation methodology was still being developed. They show the machine at its most unguarded.
